Types of Joint Pain

How many times have you woken up in the morning and rolled out of bed, only to feel like you are a creaky machine? Joint pain can happen for many different reasons, such as early arthritis, an injury, overworking,  repeated motions, aggravating an old injury and even just because you are aging. The body could have leg and hip pain, hand pain and even finger joint pain without even realizing they had it when they went to bed.

Small Joint Pain

Pain in certain small joints can be because you have arthritis or the early stages of arthritis. The joints of the fingers and even the wrists can be sore when there is repeated motion such as typing, working on crafts or fine motor work where the hands are busy. Pain relievers can ease the swelling of the joints and thereby lessen the pain temporarily. Unless you know exactly what is causing the pain, you might also want to consult the doctor for advice.

Large Joint Pain

Facet joint pain can be caused by strenuous activity during the day or it can be caused by a condition, such as arthritis or a joint disease. When your neck is stiff and sore or your back is always stiff and sore, you might have a chronic condition that needs to be evaluated by a doctor. The doctor can do an examination and either do x-rays or give you a diagnosis without an xray if your pain is sever.

Other large joints that can be in pain could be the hip from hip arthritis or the knees. The knees can have arthritis in them, they could have erosion of the tendons or the bone or they just might be sore from excessive use. The joints get the most workout of all the pieces in your body because they are constantly moving, getting your body to its desired destination and getting your work done.

Shoulder joint pain could be from repeated motion of the arm, it could be from stretching to reach something far away or you could have even slept on it wrong. To get rid of the pain, you might only need to rest and take some over the counter pain medicine until it has healed. If the pain is from an injury, then you might require some physical therapy in order to get over the pain.
